THE CHALLENGE
Bring Back the Energy
For more than 50 years, Louisville’s Belvedere has brought people together for concerts, festivals, and events along the Ohio River. In 2024, award-winning Heatherwick Studio was enlisted to reimagine this iconic space, bringing its signature approach of blending architecture, nature, and community.
The question guiding the vision: How do you create a place that couldn’t be anywhere else?
THE SOLUTION
Reinvent the Belvedere
Our goal is to reinvent the Belvedere as a world-class riverfront destination. A place to come together or get away from it all. Whether it’s grabbing a bite to eat from food trucks or farmers markets, or just hanging out with your friends and enjoying the view, it will offer something for everyone.
The reimagined Belvedere will bring new energy to downtown, spur economic growth, and showcase the best of Louisville.
