A completely overhauled design for downtown Louisville’s Belvedere unveiled Aug. 11 includes a soaring performance space, winding walking path and children's play area among a slew of other features. 

The need to fix the leaking garage was the main impetus behind the project, Mayor Craig Greenberg said. Repairs would require a tearing up of the Belvedere, providing an opportunity to reimagine what that space looks like.
